Research Advancement and Compliance

Research Advancement and Compliance reports to the Associate Provost for Research and Professional Development and is part of the support structure for LMU faculty, staff, and student research.  The office helps ensure compliance with federal regulations, state laws, and University policies as well as national standards for research involving human participants and vertebrate animal subjects and helps to ensure the ethical treatment of human and animal subjects in research at LMU. 

  • Institutional Review Board (IRB) - The IRB website is a valuable resource for students, faculty, staff, visiting scholars, or someone new to research involving human participants.  On the website, you will find all of the forms necessary for preparing a successful IRB application, as well as guidelines and policies.
  • Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee - All research and instruction involving animal (non-human vertebrate) subjects at LMU is subject to review by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC).  On the website, you will find all the forms necessary for preparing a successful IACUC application, as well as guidelines and policies.
  • Research Compliance - is responsible for the design, implementation and maintenance of a compliance and ethics program that supports LMU’s mission in a growingly complex regulatory environment.  On the website, you will find links to CITI training as well as contact information for the University’s RIO.
